If It's Not Broken - Break It!

Many years ago we built a new barn and as part of the project we added a bank of chicken pens along the east wall of the barn.  We spent hours building these pens into the barn and they worked as designed.  However, cleaning these pens was problematic and time consuming.  And to be honest with myself, when we designed the barn layout we really didn't take cleaning into account.   As a result, cleaning the barn and in particular the chicken pens was a lot of work taking well over an hour per pen.  Years later we came up with a portable chicken pen design that worked great and was very easy to clean; taking less than 15 minutes to completly clean a 32 square foot area.  Now we had a delima...The existing chicken pens were working but took way too much labor to clean.   Years later, after struggling with cleaning the built in chicken pens, I agreed to tear them down and replace them with the portable chicken tractors.
